As of Dec. 1, 2009, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires disclosure of compensation (if any) when writing recommendations, reviews, testimonials, or endorsements.
This is a benefit for you, the consumer, and for us, the site owners because it cracks down on the shady practices of deceptive bloggers and website owners who stuff their sites with frivolous endorsements for products just to get paid.
On our site, Phil and I only promote products that we have researched and/or used ourselves. In the case of products that I write about in their pre-release status, I do extensive research on the product. We also base many of our recommendations on our experience with products that find their way into our shop for repairs. As an example, there has been a recent increase in the amount of customers bringing in laptops and gaming rigs for repairs or upgrades only to find that the product they bought is not what they assumed it was. I want to give our customers a trusted site to come to for straight-forward answers on computers and devices.
We choose not to include Google ads on our site because they are randomly generated. Also, in this current state of drive by malware attacks that are hidden in legitimate ads we would like to keep our customers and followers safe.
We do receive compensation for recommending some of the products on this site but the compensation is minimal. This website costs money and time to maintain. Ordering products thru this website where links are provided may earn us a small commission and it costs you nothing extra. You will pay the same price whether you go directly to the website, or order with our affiliate link. Thank you in advance for your support of this site.
